Porcelain Utopia Site Update [Broken Media Files, Etc.]
1:00 AM – New Mexico USA
Dear Readers, Friends and Fans of Porcelain Utopia,
Greetings to you! First, my ongoing thank you for all your support, likes, follows and friendships on the various Porcelain Utopia and Jonathan Harnisch related social media outlets, as well as my own, from The Real Me Podcast and Schizophrenic and Caregiver [Music] to such sites as Good Reads and many of which I’ve either never heard much, yet on which I seem to have profiles—Quora, with its awkward interface and Pinterest. Others, I simply don’t use much like Four Square or Yelp but I’m sure on them—I love the Internet!
That being said, yes indeed, using the ‘Power of Slow and Patience,’ I am still rebuilding this website. The main update, rather the main situation: I have in the last week or so, been successful getting the site back online again—everything had to be reset, even the share counts, which was unfortunate, but I then switched servers and currently, the only part of Porcelain Utopia that affects your logging on, is that all the image files, [actually all media files] were basically the only part of the website—unsalvageable.
I only keep so many images, whether the photo quotes, or photos in general on my hard drive—the originals are difficult to find on my own computer here in The Hot Club: The home/office of Porcelain Utopia and The Real Me Podcast—all that I do, in fact.
I do have a basic system in place—how I am going about restoring the image files—I believe I took care of most of the video and audio files, but there are basically 700 posts/pages to sort through, with between 3 and 15 media files each—I must dig into old hard drives and locate them, if they have been labeled correctly. Whatever I am unable to find, I have no choice but to delete the post altogether, or just add text.
You’ll notice the different theme and appearance of this website. It took some time, and I am definitely on top of it all—just going really easy on myself and doing quite a bit of letting go, and seeing the opportunity to grow the site in other ways where adversity would otherwise create stress.
I am allowing myself to take breaks and so to get onto some of the other profiles and websites that are not my own, and some that are—it’s a real ‘cleaning up’ challenge (and yet, an opportunity to make it better!)
Thank you again for your understanding and patience.
To sum up, you’ll end up on some posts that might be empty or have broken media files. I am on it, and believe I’ve taken care of the majority of the three or four viral posts, the homepage, and other PU favorites.
Over 30 million hits now, and actually the hit counter on the upper right-hand corner doesn’t count each hit averaging 4-5 page views each.I apologize for the haste in writing this update; possible typos, or poor grammar—let’s just say it’s quite late at night.
Enjoy the London Olympics by the way! And be sure to Like the Porcelain Utopia Facebook page for lots of great updates!
Enjoy Life and Smile!
